‘ Il sogno più strano ‘, Dolcelete’s debut album ( The Strangest Dream*) includes ten Italian “art” songs plus a bonus track. The record begins with “La Danza della Vita” (The Dance of Life*), a ballad inspired by homonymous Edward Munch’s painting, and it ends with “Sopra e Sotto” (Above and Beneath*), a rock song related to a Pirandello’s short novel. All pieces are sung in Italian and, although they floats through different styles of music, share existentialist issues outlined in a intimist way. Notable songs are: “Vorrei” ( I Would*) “Scivola” (Slide*) “alla Luna” (To The Moon*),they’re really well-made songs on a melodic viewpoint and with a strong emotional impact.
All arrangements has been edited finely, to allow clear melody prominence of bright vocals by Marcello Moretta, whose task is to interpret François Quadrati lyrics. On a instrumental viewpoint guitar plays a leader role, especially soloist one, played with style by Simone Menicacci.
