Mamasuya Band born in 2009 by Stefano Resca’s obstinacy who blended in this undefinable project Matteo Cerboncini’s inspiration and Nicola Bruno’s calm genius. The basic idea is: “let’s play what we love”
That’s how it went…months of meetings, rehearsals, concerts, sheet music, inspiring dinners and flashing insights which led to the creation of new and alternative sound, born by classical blues and channelled into the most aggressive rock, without ever forgetting melody and “groove”.
The mix between most famous rock guitar player’s influences,smooth and inflated sounds and the frantic rhythm, almost african, played by drums and percussions, created the main thread of Mamasuya project, which do not betray its roots instead enhancing them through the continous listening at bluesmen and rockmen who wrote the history of music and inspired each single track of the album, starting from the most aggressive arriving to the ballad…
The three main characters of this musical project, more similar to a life route, are extremely different for their musical education, but intimately related through their spirit and musical conception. These ideas created by three ceaselessly shifting minds are channelled like a river in flood towards sheet music and translated into sound in a natural way so everything seems to have always been there, suspended, just waiting to be translated into music.
The work has been edited throughout each detail; nothing has been undervalued: starting from the choice of guest musicians collaborating in some pieces of the album, including the photography and the making of the CD-showcase video, having an inedited excerpt from “Boogaloo Street”.
Also the choice of title has a great value for the band. “Mamsuya” band put “Mamasuya” album forward in order to define more how much this project belongs to its creators and jealous keepers now ready to share it with the world
